We met on Tuesday, May 20, for a presentation by Elizabeth Shearin, NYCEDC, on the Cruise industry in New York. Elizabeth is in charge of the Passenger Ship Terminals here in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Mindi Rambo of the National Park Service also gave a presentation about the national parks in our harbor. Yes, there are national parks in the harbor!
The Propeller Club of NY/NJ and The NY Harbor School hosted Gerard Thornton’s presentation on the Luckenbach Tug Company
We met on Monday, May 12, 6:00 pm at Pier 15 Education Center of Hornblower for a presentation by Gerard Thornton on the Luckenbach Tug Company. Gerard, of Thornton Towing & Transporation, LLC, is a friend of the family of the Luckenbach family and the father was up here from Texas during this time.

On Friday, March 21, 2014, a panel of experts discussed Mega Container Ship Casualties.
We met at Scandanavia House, 58 Park Avenue at 38th St., New York, NY 10016.
A panel of experts visited the logistical, commercial, operational and environmental difficulties surrounding large container ships casualties. We had a good turnout – 19 in attendance.

Shipping 2014 continued a tradition of bringing the international shipping community together in North America’s leading commercial shipping center, for two and a half days of business and market-oriented activity.
After the conference and exposition, the Commodore Gala Dinner brought together leaders of the international shipping community for a friendly celebration of each year’s selected Commodore.
Our monthly meeting on April 17 at 5pm will feature John Miklus , President of the American Institute of Marine Underwriters
